Hardik Pandya suffered cramps walks off the field
India will chase a target of 237 in the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka.
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya triggered fear among his camp, fans and viewers, as he had to walk off the field after suffering cramps on his calf. Pandya could not complete his 6th over and had to walk off. He was seen pulling up, clutching his left knee. He looked uncomfortable while putting weight on his left knee. It has heavily strapped later and he still looked in pain.
Pandya is fine!
But a tweet by a broadcaster revealed that the all-rounder is fine now, and likely to participate in the rest of the game. Sri Lanka scored 236/8 in their 50 overs. Jasprit Bumrah was India’s pick of the bowlers, as he took 4 wickets, giving away just 43 runs in his 10 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal too bettered his performance from the last game, as he scalped 2/43 in his 10 overs.
Pandya could manage just 5,2 overs but picked up the important wicket of skipper Upul Tharanga. Milinda Siriwardana top scored for the hosts with 58 off 58 balls. He produced two boundaries and a six. 30-year-old Chamara Kapugedera scored 40 off 61 balls, as the Lankans managed a decent total before the rain came calling.
India easily chased down 217 in the last game, and it looks like the Lankan bowlers will have to produce something magical to stop them this time too. Skipper Virat Kohli is in terrific form and opener Shikhar Dhawan had notched up a hundred in the first ODI. Lasith Malinga and company will look to get some early breakthroughs in order to avoid a situation they were in last time around.
India wrapped up the 1st ODI within 29 overs and lost just the wicket of Rohit Sharma. Sharma will look to break the jinx and create a good start for the team. He has a lot of motivation at the other end in the face of in-form Dhawan and if they managed to get a good start then we might see KL Rahul or MS Dhoni coming up and finishing things.
