India’s recently concluded T20I series against Australia was the first instance when Krunal Pandya was playing away from home for his country. It was visible in his bowling that the left-arm spinner was nervous as he dished out some poor deliveries during his spell. Krunal went on to concede 55 runs in his four overs in Brisbane only to redeem himself in the next couple of games.
He was taken apart by Glenn Maxwell at The Gabba but the Indian all-rounder got him in the next two matches to complete a sweet revenge. Not only that, Krunal scalped four wickets for 36 runs picking some important batsmen of the opposition and was also awarded the Man of the Match. His brother Hardik Pandya had also went for runs in his debut game in Australia but had managed to perform well.
However, Krunal Pandya has now revealed that his younger brother was joking and laughing when he was being pummelled in Brisbane.
We don’t talk much about cricket
“Hardik and I don’t talk much about cricket. He was joking and laughing that I went for so many runs. I also joke when he plays poorly. That’s all we talk about cricket,” Krunal said while speaking to the reporters after the last T20 International.
With T20I series done and dusted, Krunal will now return to India having been selected only for this series of the tour. Hardik, on the other hand, is recuperating from the back injury which he sustained during the Asia Cup in September. He hasn’t been picked for the Test series as well which is set to start on December 6 in Adelaide.
However, the star all-rounder is expected to make his return to the side for the three-match ODI series which will begin on January 12. It will be interesting to see how he fares on his comeback in the India colours.
