India and Pakistan are set to lock horns in the upcoming Asia Cup’s marquee clash on September 19 in Dubai. Both teams have announced their squads for the multi-nation tournament. In the meantime, Virat Kohli, who is regarded as one of the most potent cricketers doing the rounds, won’t feature in the event. Rohit Sharma will captain the Indian team in his absence.

Meanwhile, Hasan Ali, Pakistan’s fast-bowler has mentioned that his team can take advantage of India’s vulnerability in Kohli’s absence. The 24-year-old speedster also hailed Kohli but also vowed to take his wicket in the future. Pakistan are scheduled to meet India in next year’s 50-over World Cup in England and Wales and Ali will have a chance to bowl to the Indian skipper.

There is no need for comparison with Virat Kohli

“As a youngster, everybody wants to take Virat Kohli’s wicket but unfortunately he isn’t coming. The next time we compete, I will definitely try to take his wicket,” Hasan was quoted as saying during Pakistan’s pre-tournament camp at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Kohli is deemed to be one of the fittest players going around. He has the record of scoring 19.1 to 19.3 out of 25 in the yo-yo test. However, most recently, the Pakistani seamer has registered a score of 20. Most importantly, he breached Kohli, a news which grabbed the headlines. In the meantime, Ali doesn’t want himself to be compared with the Delhi-born cricketer.

“Looking at all three formats, you need to increase the level of your fitness which is why I have focused more on my fitness. There is no need for comparison with Virat Kohli. He is my senior. He is a legend. He himself is fit. I focus on my fitness because that brings me consistency,” the Mandi Bahauddin-born fast bowler added.
