Have not received communication from BCCI regarding crowd capacity for IND vs WI Kolkata T20Is: CAB President
Dalmiya also added that the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will not make any comments on the matter as of now.
The Indian cricket team will play 3 T20I matches against the West Indies at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The T20I series will commence on 16th February 2022.
And, ahead of the series, the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), Avishek Dalmiya said that there are reports floating around in the media that the crowds will not be allowed inside the stadium for the three-match series between the two outfits.
“There are reports in the media that spectators would not be allowed during the three T-20 International Matches between India and West Indies to be held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, later this month,” said Dalmiya as quoted by Times Now.

Avishek Dalmiya said that he has not received any written communication from the Board of Control for India (BCCI) regarding the allowance of spectators inside the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. Dalmiya also added that the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will not make any comments on the matter as of now.
“However, we have not received any written intimation or information regarding the same from the BCCI till now. Therefore, we would like to refrain from issuing any reaction in the matter at present,” concluded Dalmiya.
Before the T20I series, India and the West Indies will take on each other in a three-match ODI series which will kickstart on 6th February 2022. The 1st ODI of the series is slated to be India’s 1000th in the ODI format of the game. The 2nd and 3rd ODI matches between India and the West Indies will be played on 9th and 11th February 2022 respectively.
All the ODI matches will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. No spectators will be allowed to attend the ODI matches in Ahmedabad. The Indian camp has been hit by Covid-19 with the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shreyas Iyer testing positive for the virus.
