'He is a special individual' - Kane Williamson, Dinesh Karthik heap praise on MS Dhoni's 'calm' attitude
Dhoni was set to play for CSK in IPL 2020. However, the tournament was postponed indefinitely in the wake of COVID-19.
MS Dhoni, the former Indian skipper is the epitome of calmness. He is one of those players who try to keep themselves away from social media activities. Considering his impressive captaincy record and on-field presence, Dhoni is probably one of the most influential personalities in the country.
Amid COVID-19 outbreak, the fans might have thought that Dhoni will be active on social media platforms but that has not been the case. During the nationwide lockdown, he spent the majority of his time in his farmhouse with his daughter Ziva and wife Sakshi. Amid the pandemic, Sakshi kept giving an update to the fans about Dhoni by sharing photos and videos.
Meanwhile, in an interaction, Kane Williamson and Dinesh Karthik have come out talking about Dhoni’s calm and composed nature. The Kiwi skipper feels that Dhoni is a real gentleman of cricket. He added the veteran wicketkeeper always tries to enjoy his game to the fullest. As per him, Ranchi stalwart always remains focussed on what all is important for him as an individual.
I haven’t seen Dhoni angry that often: Dinesh Karthik
“You might finish a series and try and have a quick chat and find the secret, but he seems to take it in his stride and appreciate the game. He seems to remember what is important and not get too caught up with some of those things that may be distracting, very focused on what’s important, but a special individual,” Williamson said on Star Sports’ show Cricket Connected.
Dinesh Karthik praised Dhoni and said that his attitude is still the same from the time he has arrived in international cricket. He recalled first India A tour with him and recited that the former World Cup-winning skipper was quite chill, calm and relaxed at that time. And, there is no change in him leaving his white beard aside. Karthik also mentioned that he has never seen MS Dhoni getting angry too often throughout his career.
“In 2003 or 2004, when I went for my first A tour with him, he was pretty much an easy-going, chill, relaxed character and that’s what you see as well. The only difference is that there’s a lot more white hair now, but inside, he’s pretty calm. I haven’t seen him get angry that often or I haven’t seen him express his anger explicitly outside too often. So, he’s been pretty much the same,” Karthik told.
Dhoni was all set to mark his comeback in competitive cricket through IPL 2020. However, BCCI suspended the tournament for an indefinite period. But, fans are eagerly waiting for their “Thala” to brace the cricket field once again.
