'He is sleeping with my sister after marrying her yesterday' - Faf du Plessis' reason behind Hardus Viljoen's absence in the MSL match
Du Plessis' answer left the presenter in splits.
Cricket is a game of not just the bat and the ball, but it is also a game of relationships with brothers, sisters, husband and wife and other relatives of many known players taking part in the game. Some of the known relatives are the Grace brothers, the most famous being WG Grace, who played for England. The most recent example is the lovely couple of Mitchell Starc and Alyssa Healy, both of whom represent Australia in international cricket.
Another relationship was established on December 7 and though there was a hint of it given during the Indian Premier League 2019 edition. Kings XI Punjab had bought South African fast bowler Hardus Viljoen for a decent price and that meant various tabloids and newspapers digging in deep into the profile of the bowler only to find an interesting tidbit with respect to Viljoen and Faf du Plessis.
Faf du Plessis leaves the presenter and everyone else in splits with his reply
Hardus Viljoen was dating the sister of Chennai Super Kings’ player and South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis, Remi Rhynners. Viljoen has played for his country, before opting for a three-year Kolpak deal with Derbyshire. He has taken a wicket on the first ball of his Test career, removing Alastair Cook of England in 2016.
Meanwhile, Faf and Viljoen both play for the same franchise in Mzansi Super League 2019, for the Paarl Rocks franchise. They are slated to play Nelson Mandela Bay Giants on December 8, 2019, and during the toss, the presenter asked Faf about any changes in his team.
To this, the skipper replied that Hardus Viljoen is not playing in this match, as he is lying in bed with his sister given that they got married a day before. The facial expressions of the presenter were one to watch, as everyone was in splits given Faf’s deadpan answer.
“Hardus Viljoen not playing today because he’s lying in bed with my sister as they got married yesterday,” Faf du Plessis said at the toss.
