Test cricket, they say, speak the language of life. There are certain parallels that one can draw between life and Test cricket. Considered as the parent format of the game, it is nothing to be perplexed that the longest format has often exemplified what it means to stay resilient and hang in there. Considering all of these, India’s legendary captain Kapil Dev has now walked forward to put the learnings from Test cricket in the fight against the ongoing pandemic.

This has been a tough time for everybody around the globe. Following the protocols are taking a toll on people, however, it is pivotal to strictly abide by the regulations. Thus getting in a complete batting gear for an advertisement, Kapil Dev is seen comparing wearing helmets to face bouncers to wearing masks to fight out the Coronavirus.

In the video, the veteran states that in his cricketing career he has faced many lethal bouncers but the one that the world is facing right now in terms of Covid-19 is the most dangerous one. Thus, as helmets serve to protect the batters, allowing them to score runs, masks are what would help everyone to battle out the coronavirus.

No matter how dangerous the opponent is, we’ve got to be prepared and safe to win the match: Kapil Dev

Both in life and cricket, often we have to face the toughest of situations as walking back to the pavilion is certainly not the right option. At any given point the fortunes of the game can be changed. The Covid-19 cases in India are experiencing a surge again and the experts are pointing out the third wave. Thus, Kapil Dev asserted in the video that no matter how tough it gets we have to win this match against the virus.

“I’ve played many do-or-die matches in my career. Won some. Lost some. But, this one is the most dangerous of all – the match against coronavirus. We thought we were winning the first innings against coronavirus but it came back with a vengeance in the second innings. No matter how dangerous the opponent is, we’ve got to be prepared and safe to win the match. Get ready to defeat corona,” he said.
