Bangladesh comprehensively beat the New Zealand side by 8 wickets in the 1st Test match at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui and set their date with history. This was Bangladesh’s first-ever Test win against New Zealand.
New Zealand posted a total of 328 in the first innings, with Devon Conway leading the way with a 227-ball 122. Bangladesh scored 458 in their first innings, with 4 of their batters slamming half-centuries.
In the second innings, the Black Caps succumbed to the guile of Ebadot Hossain. The right-arm pacer shattered the New Zealand side with a six-wicket haul, as the Kiwis were shot out for just 169. The visitors were set a meager target of 40, and they romped home with ease.
