Here is how Vinod Kambli celebrated his 46th birthday
Kambli relived his childhood moments on 46th birthday.
The former Indian Cricketer Vinod Kambli had a memorable birthday celebration on Thursday. On the birthday eve, he was joined by his childhood friend Sachin Tendulkar along with their close friends to celebrate the special occasion in Mumbai. Kambli, who turned 46 on Thursday, received birthday wishes from his fans across the nation on social media and later expressed his gratitude to them. Albeit his timeline was flooded with wishes, a unique wish from his beloved friend Sachin Tendulkar stood out tall.
The bond between Vinod and Sachin
As friends from their childhood, Kambli and Tendulkar played their club cricket together and represented Mumbai in Ranji Trophy. Both of them performed exceptionally well at the domestic level before cementing their place in the national team. The duo shared a record 664 run partnership in their school cricket match against St. Xavier’s School. But unfortunately, their bond was ruined once Vinod was dropped from the Indian team citing poor performances.
Facts about Kambli
Kambli’s International career spanned over 10 years for India and he is considered as one of the wasted talents. At the early age of 24, he ended his test career with an average of 54. Currently, he holds the highest batting average for any Indian cricketer in test and also holds the record for the fastest 1000 runs in test matches.
The 46-year-old also represented the Indian team in limited overs format. He made 104 appearances with an ODI average of 32.59 since his debut against Pakistan in 1991. He last played his One Day International match against Sri Lanka in 2000 and never made his way back to the national team.
