New Zealand and England locked horns in the first semi-final event of the T20 World Cup 2021, the clash which was clinched by Kiwis by five wickets and one over remaining. As New Zealand pulled off the chase in an unimaginable way, the Blackcaps jumped out of their seats to celebrate the victory. However, star all-rounder James Neesham remained indifferent and kept sitting on his seat like nothing happened.

While all the Kiwi players were celebrating and hugging each other passionately after the semi-final win, Neesham’s cold look while being locked on his seat went viral. Even skipper Kane Williamson didn’t seem jumping here and there but passed a smile from his seat, but fans wondered why the cold look on Neesham’s face persisted.

It was only after a short while that people started flooding on social media that Neesham cannot just forget the fateful day of the 2019 World Cup final against England. While the all-rounder stood up in all right manners for his team on that day, the match got slipped from his teams’ hands as per boundary rules.

The Job isn’t over, tweets James Neesham after the semi-final win

Several fans commented that Neesham cannot get over that horrific night but in their clash against England, he was again at his sheer best as he changed the course of the game with his 27 off 11. He later even tweeted that the job is yet not over while taking the note of his same cold-look seated picture while his team around him celebrated.

“Most players have played together in various tournaments. Knew it was going to be a great game of cricket. Thought they had a pretty competitive total. But just by staying in there, building the partnerships, and cashing in on some moments, some matchups. Definitely, something that stood out today (Mitchell’s character). Has batted beautifully in a high-pressure situation. T20 cricket – it’s a game of small margins. Depending on the surface, the short side – these things can be match-defining,” read a part of Kane Williamson’s statements after winning the match against England.
