The upcoming one is going to be the 13th edition of the league, and the IPL has stayed around long enough to generate ample statistics and records for us to devour and digest.
8. Kings XI Punjab (KXIP)
Highest
The highest score for the KXIP came way back in the 2011 edition of the IPL against RCB at Dharmshala. The Bangalore’s bowling attack faced the ire of an on-song Adam Gilchrist, who slammed 9 sixes and 8 fours during his 55-ball 106. Gilly was assisted by his countryman Shaun Marsh, who teed off to 79 from just 49 deliveries as Punjab posted 232 runs on the board.
Coming to chase a massive target, the RCB’s line-up succumbed under pressure as Piyush Chawla and Ryan Harris bagged four and three wickets respectively. RCB was dismissed for 121 in 17 overs and handed the 7th biggest victory of IPL in terms of runs to KXIP.
Lowest
The Punjab-based franchise hit rock bottom against the (now defunct) Rising Pune Supergiant in the 2017 edition at Pune. Batting first, KXIP managed only 73 runs before being all-out in 15.5 overs. Coming to chase, RPS had a walk in the park as they chased the target down in merely 12 overs at the loss of 1 wicket.
