Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels added a World and World Cup record of 372 runs for the 2nd wicket against Zimbabwe. West Indies batted first and made 372 runs in 50 overs after losing Dwayne Smith on the 2nd ball of the innings. Chris Gayle scored the first double hundred 215 and Samuels scored his career best 133* in 49.4 overs. This is the highest runs for any partnership in ODI history breaking Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid’s rcord of 331* runs, made against New Zealand in 1999-2000.

Zimbabwe replied with 289 runs with Sean Williams making 89 runs, but lost the match  by 73 runs using D/L method.
