Highest Successful Run Chases in ODIs in Australia
4. 310/5 by Australia Vs India at Perth (2016)
During the first ODI of India’s tour to Australia in 2016, Australia chased down 309 put on by India at Perth. Yet again, it was Steve Smith who led from the front and scored 149 to guide the hosts to a win in the first game of the series. Coming in to bat first, Rohit Sharma carried his bat through the Indian innings, hammering an unbeaten 171 off 163 balls, hitting 13 fours and 7 sixes. He put on 207 with Virat Kohli for the 2nd wicket and enabled India to post a huge total of 309. But a marathon partnership between the former Australian skipper George Bailey and the current Australian skipper Steve Smith, spoiled the party for Indians as the target was chased down with 4 balls to spare. Bailey scored 112 off 120 balls while Smith continued his good form against India by scoring 149 off 135 balls.
