'Hope you recover well' - Kevin Pietersen trolls Yuvraj Singh after Chelsea defeat Manchester United in FA Cup semi-final
Chelsea, who booked the final berth with the win, will now face Arsenal for the coveted trophy.
Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen and former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh were yet again involved in a hilarious banter on Twitter. The two cricket stars, many a time, have taken a dig at each other over the past few years.
It had all started when Pietersen, in 2008, had labelled Yuvraj as a ‘pie-chucker after getting out to the left-arm spinner during a Test series in India. Pietersen even went on to say that Yuvraj had bowled ‘left-arm filth’. Since the incident, the two are known for pulling each other’s leg on several occasions.
They are also known for trolling each other for the football clubs which they support. Pietersen is an ardent Chelsea fan while Yuvraj is a Manchester United supporter. Considering the rivalry between both the football clubs, it’s hard for the two cricket stars to hold their emotions when both the teams clash against each other.
Pietersen continued the trend and poked fun at Yuvraj after Manchester United lost the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea on Sunday. Goals from Olivier Giroud, Mason Mount and an own goal from Harry Maguire saw Chelsea beat Manchester United by 3-1 to storm into the FA Cup final. The defeat also ended the 19-match unbeaten streak of the ‘Red Devils’. Chelsea, who booked the final berth with the win, will now face Arsenal for the coveted trophy.
Come watch Champions League as my guest: Kevin Pietersen
Post Chelsea’s victory, Pietersen tagged Yuvraj on Twitter and asked if he was feeling okay. “Hi, @YUVSTRONG12 – you ok mate?!” wrote the England stalwart. Yuvraj also rued Manchester United’s loss as he responded by saying, “Haha no mate I’m not I’m hurting.”
Pietersen added more salt to the wound as he trolled Yuvraj Singh even further by asking him to be his guest and watch Champions League. Yuvraj, last month, had tweeted that he supports the best club in the world– Manchester United. Pietersen didn’t hold back on grilling Yuvraj for his past tweet.
“Just checking. Lots of talk a few weeks ago. Just checking you still wanted to chat?! Hope you recover well! You can come watch Champions League as my guest anytime,” Pietersen added. Yuvraj also hit back by saying that his club never gives up even after suffering a defeat. “Hmmm let’s see we never give up @ManUtd,” tweeted Yuvraj.
