Hopefully, we can pull off all those catches: Murali Vijay
Indian opening batsman Murali Vijay had a highly unsuccessful outing in the first Test match in Pune wherein he was not allowed to get into the batting groove that he usually does. However, one feature that was a terrible aspect in their first Test as far as the Indians were concerned was the fact that their fielding was a bit off, something that many usually do not associate the Indian cricket team with.
However, speaking ahead of the start of the second Test in Bangalore, Vijay went ahead and added that he was hopeful about the catches sticking as opposed to the ones dropped in Pune. Vijay had also spilled one of those catches in Pune in what was a rather unfortunate defeat to say the least.
“We had a chat about it and we are working on few of the areas where we could have done much better in the last test match,” Vijay, who spilled one himself, said ahead of the second test beginning on Saturday.
“We are looking forward to this game and hopefully we can pull of those catches. The first innings lead was little more than what we expected. From there on it was always going to be tough for us to get into the game,” Vijay said. “We had the opportunities, if we had taken those catches maybe we would have put lot more pressure on the Australians.

Speaking about the defeat, Vijay went on to add that it was important to take the hit on the chin and move on and start afresh and put the Aussies back under pressure. However, Vijay was also wary of the manner in which they had to go about their business in Bangalore against the Australians.
“But it didn’t happen and we got to take it in our chin and move forward. We have lost the game and we have to accept that fact. We have to move forward,” Vijay said. “We are looking forward to this game and start fresh… We will look to put the pressure back on the Australians.
“It’s going to be a good challenge for us as a team and test our character. That’s why we are playing cricket and hopefully we can play the way we have to play and we have played before.”
