‘Hotel WiFi is non-existent’ - Sam Billings asks for dongle suggestions from fans while quarantining ahead of IPL 2021
The netizens on Twitter didn’t disappoint the right-handed batsman as they came up with the companies whose dongle will be worth the money.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be hosting the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in India from April 9 to May 30 across six venues namely Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. With the T20 Championship only a few days away, all the franchises have started assembling the players at their respective practice and training camps.
England wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings will be performing for the runners-up of IPL 2020 Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 2021 edition and thus reached the team hotel on Monday, March 29 after the conclusion of England’s tour of India. DC has organized their camp in Mumbai this time as they will be playing against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their opening match on April 10 at Wankhede Stadium.
Also, the team won’t be playing any games at their home ground in Delhi as this time BCCI has decided to conduct the games at neutral venues to eliminate the home advantage for the teams. The Delhi players are staying at the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai.
However, Billings isn’t experiencing an ideal stay in the hotel as the wicketkeeper is facing wifi issues in his hotel room. Getting fed up with the poor wifi connection of the hotel, the 29-year-old took to his official Twitter handle to ask the fans for suggestions regarding a good dongle.
“Hotel WiFi is non existent….Best WiFi dongle to buy and use in India please?” Billings tweeted.
Sam Billings starts a poll on Twitter
The Indian citizens on Twitter didn’t disappoint the right-handed batsman as they came up with the companies whose dongle will be worth the money. However, after seeing the comments, Sam was left confused as he received two major suggestions in the form of Jio Dongle and Airtel Dongle.
Not able to make a concrete choice, Billings started a poll on his Twitter handle where he asked his fans to vote for one between Airtel and Jio. “Only one way to decide…Jio or Airtel WiFi Dongle?” the keeper wrote.
Billings had arrived in India for the white-ball leg between India and England comprising five T20Is and three ODIs. However, he could play only a solitary ODI at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Jos Buttler was the first-choice keeper for the visitors.
