'How about DRS bro?' - Yuvraj Singh hilariously trolls Shikhar Dhawan for not taking DRS against SRH
Replays later showed that he was not out as the ball had hit him outside the line of the off-stump.
Delhi Capitals opener Shikhar Dhawan might have scored a fine match-winning half-century in Qualifier 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad but it has not saved him from getting trolled by his former India and IPL teammate Yuvraj Singh. After a string of low scores, Dhawan returned to form on Sunday and played a fine knock of 78 from 50 balls.
His knock helped Delhi Capitals pile up 189 for 3 in 20 overs before going on to win the clash by 17 runs. SRH put up a valiant effort with the bat thanks to Kane Williamson’s fighting fifty but eventually ended up on 172 for 8. Delhi Capitals will now fight it out against Mumbai Indians in the final of IPL 2020 on November 10.
Yuvraj Singh troll Dhawan
Soon after Delhi Capitals’ innings ended, Yuvraj Singh took to Twitter to give his assessment of the same. And as usual, the batting legend, who loves to pull pranks, once again pulled the legs of his fellow cricketer with Dhawan being in the firing line this time around. More than Dhawan’s fifty, it was his wicket that caught Yuvraj’s attention.
Dhawan’s fine knock came to an end in the 19th over of Delhi’s innings when he got out LBW to a full-toss bowled by Sandeep Sharma. He was trying to play a reverse ramp shot but completely failed to make any contact with the ball. The SRH players appealed for the wicket and the umpire had no hesitation in raising his finger.
Dhawan also looked convinced with the decision and started to walk even before the umpire raised his finger. However, replays later showed that he was not out as the ball had hit him outside the line of the off-stump. Dhawan had a sheepish smile on his face as he looked at the replays on the giant screen while walking back.
Yuvraj, on the other hand, made sure to remind Dhawan that he had the chance of saving himself by using the DRS. The former cricketer also praised SRH bowlers for their death bowling and singled out T Natarajan for special praise after the southpaw impressed once again.
“@SDhawan25 man in form but naam to jatt ji hai… how bout drs bro ? as usual must have forgotten,” wrote Yuvraj. “Great come back by bowlers in the last 2 overs ! Not even A single boundary scored hats off natrajan and @sandeep25a pressure game execution to the point,” he added.
