Ever since the Australians have landed in Chennai, there has been a lot of buzz amongst fans to purchase the tickets. In fact, there were thousands of crazy supporters queuing up since last night to get their hands on tickets and witness the series opener live on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Australia had their first training session at the MA Chidambaram Stadium where the 1st ODI is scheduled to be played. Before the box office opens up, there was already a large number of people gathered around, waiting for the tickets to go on sale.

However, the local vendors saw this as an opportunity for themselves as they sold food items and water bottles to earn extra. Adding to that, the weather was extremely hot but the fans didn’t give up and it was worth wait when the tickets finally were in their possession.

Australia’s 5th ODI in Chennai

This is going to be Australia’s fifth ODI in Chennai. The venue has been a lucky hunting ground for them as they have won all their previous encounters at Chepauk. However, when it comes to Test matches, the Aussies have won just one out of seven games they’ve played here.

The visitors are also expected to play a tour game against the Board President’s XI, at Chepauk on Tuesday before the action begins later this week. The Chepauk Stadium which has a capacity of 38000 may well see a full house on Sunday.

India vs Australia games have always proved to be competitive and there’s nothing less expected from this one. The fans would be looking forward to an exciting game between both the teams. Also, with many Australian players being a part of the IPL, it won’t be surprising to see Indian fans root for some Aussie players too.
