Out of form Journalist, Rajdeep Pardesi got an opportunity to catch up with out of form batsman Shikhar Dhawan in Australia. Please find excerpts from the interview below:

Rajdeep Pardesi: Hi guys this is Rajdeep Pardesi with another star cricketer. Tonight we have India’s upcoming all-rounder who has replaced the legendary Stuart Binny for this Australia tour, Rishi Dhawan! How are you doing Rishi?

Shikhar Dhawan: Err. Rajdeep. Shikhar Dhawan not Rishi.

RP: Sorry. My bad Shikhar. I hardly see you on the field mostly you are in the pavilion these days, hence the confusion.

SD: Binny had informed me that you spin interviews more than Warne. But I am here to smack those out of the park.

RP: When was the last time you did that in a stadium?

SD: Against James Faulkner! What a six it was!

RP: Wait. Wasn’t this during the World Cup last year?

SD: Err. Yes.

RP: Haha. No one can get away from me. Rajdeep- 1 Shikhar-0

SD: Can we get to real questions?

RP: Ok ok. How do you feel being back in Australia?

SD: Feels good I suppose. I wish to do better than last time and impress my in-laws who are in Australia.

RP: Is it because of your in-laws being around, you can’t perform?

SD: Nothing like it. I played well during the World Cup. So there are some positives.

RP: Ok. We have a Tweet from Ekta Kapoor who says “I want to start a sequel to Sasural Simar Ka. It will star Shikhar Dhawan and will be called ‘Sasural Shikkkhar Ka’” With three K’s in Shikhar…

SD: Nahi. Nahi. Nahi. I want to concentrate on my cricketing career at this point. TV and all that maybe later.

RP: Ok. What are your views on the DRS?

SD: Well the DRS, Decision Review System is quite controversial….

RP: Sorry to cut you in. Not that DRS…

SD: Then?

RP: Dhawan Review System. My “sources” tell me that the team management has devised a Dhawan Review System to decide which Dhawan should play.

SD: What? Really? How do they even do that?

RP: They just play spin the bottle in front of your posters, whoever is in front of the bottle’s neck plays.

SD: Nice luck I got there. Hope it turns out to be that way for the 3rd game as well.

RP: It will. Jadeja is the one who is spinning the bottle. Outside India, he can’t even spin a bottle properly let alone a ball. LOL!

SD: LOL. Nice one. I will text that to Binny.

RP: Thanks. And I think anyway Dhoni won’t drop you.

SD: Why?

RP: Because he strongly believes in “Mann jaaye par Dhawan najaaye”

SD: What is all this yaar. Yeh sab kya chal raha hai?

RP: FOGG Chal raha hai.

Sorry to interrupt the interview but it seems that Shikhar Dhawan has thrown the FOGG perfume bottle at Rajdeep for irritating him. The only good thing he has done after landing in Australia anyway. Rajdeep is retired hurt and we shall return with concluding part of this interview once he is back to his non‘senses’.
