I am closest to Ishan Kishan in Mumbai Indians team: Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav was bought by Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2018 auction, due to his experience in the tournament and terrific performance in domestic cricket. In the same edition, he amassed over 500 runs at an average of 36. 57. He followed it up with 400+ runs in the subsequent editions, which was one of the key reasons for the team’s title victories. Yadav recently answered a question about his best friend in the MI team and chose wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan, who also was snapped up by the franchise in the 2018 auction.

Yadav reckoned that he needs the company of Kishan, especially when the team loses the game. He recalled that the southpaw would go on another trajectory to lighten up his mood after a bad performance of him or the team. He further went on to say that he has already told the trainer that Kishan will only be his partner during the sessions, and want him during any sponsor shoots as well.

Yadav added that they do not talk about cricket when they’re batting together for MI or India, instead, they will decide on eating particular food after winning the game.

“You have to him around the around, whether you’ve won or lost. If you’ve lost, then you need to have him, his vibe is different. He can start up a conversation out of anything. He’ll suddenly say you remember when this had happened in New Zealand, and did you come with us for the West Indies series, that’s how he is. I have told the trainer that my sessions should be with him. If there’s any sponsor commitment, I want him around me,” Yadav said on Gaurav Kapur’s Breakfast with Champions show on Youtube.

“We do not talk about cricket when we bat together. We would talk about random things like tonight we’ll go back and eat this, If we win the game, then chocolate brownies and ice cream are a must.” Yadav added.

Yadav felt that things go out of control hilariously when Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant are together. He revealed that they can eat anything and gave an example of both wicket-keepers putting chocolate ice cream on a bed and also urge him to eat it, so that he can score runs in the next game. In the end, he said Pant and Kishan are clean hearts and complete souls.

“I’ve spent a lot of time in the last seven months with them. When they’re together, it’s out of control. Trust me, it’s out of control. The both of them can talk about anything and eat anything. They can dip a bun in ice cream and eat it. They put chocolate ice cream and Nandos sauce on bread. The only thing was left to put a piece a chicken, this combination in their eyes it is a burger. They will tell me, eat this Bhaiya, you’ll score runs tomorrow. Both are clean hearts, complete pure souls,” Yadav added.
