I am deeply humbled with such an overwhelming response to the film: MS Dhoni

The biopic of Indian ODI and T20I skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni- MS Dhoni: The Untold Story hit the cinema theaters last week and has been going strong since then. The movie had until yesterday grossed over 94crore from its business in the country. It was off to one of the best starts for a Bollywood movie in the year and with no major flicks releasing this week is expected to do better over the weekend.

Dhoni has on multiple occasions said that the objective behind making the movie was not just to depict his struggle or glorify him as an individual but is a message to all those who are at that stage in their life that if you work hard and in the right direction you can achieve the biggest of the dreams. That is what Dhoni’s journey tells you.

The story is expected to inspire young cricketers and others in different walks of life and thus chief ministers of four Indian states decided to grant it a tax-free status which cuts down the cost of the tickets and is seen as a great move to push maximum people to go out there and watch it in theaters. Dhoni was humbled by the response his biopic has received and thanked CMs for their gesture.
