'I am not a Hurricanes fan' - Kid responds to George Bailey after taking his autograph
The incident took place before the game between Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers.
Australia’s premier T20 competition Big Bash League (BBL) is currently in progress with eight teams fighting it out for the ultimate crown. Before the start of every match in the tournament, the players give an autograph to the kids on the team cap and the tradition has been followed for long enough now. Hobart Hurricanes’ George Bailey, while doing the same, came across a kid named Cody who hilariously told him that he isn’t a fan of his team.
The incident took place just before the start of the clash between the Hobart Hurricanes and the Perth Scorchers. While signing an autograph for a kid, the former Australia skipper tried to have a conversation with him. This is when Cody caught Bailey by surprise telling that he isn’t a Hurricanes’ fan and doesn’t like to watch cricket much either.
Here’s the conversation between George Bailey and Cody
Bailey – What’s your name? Bailey asked.
Kid – Cody.
Bailey – You think we’ll get up?
Kid – (No answer.)
Bailey – You a Hurricanes fan? Bailey continued.
Kid – Mmmm, not really,
Bailey – Not really, jeepers. Have you been sent out here as a bit of a mole, are you from Western Australia?
Kid – (No answer.)
Bailey – Do you like cricket?
Kid – Sometimes my brother forces me.
Bailey – It’s been lovely chatting to you, have a lovely evening.

Scorchers thrash Hurricanes in a one-sided encounter
George Bailey asked the kid if the Hobart Hurricanes would be able to recover from their losses in the ongoing season. While the fans were certainly hopeful as the team was playing at the home ground. But what followed was a disappointing show from the Hurricanes. The Scorchers posted 175 runs on the board in 20 overs after losing the toss and the home side was never in the chase.
Though Bailey himself tried his best scoring 36 runs with the bat the others didn’t support him much as the team was bundled out for just 98 runs in the 18th over of the innings. They lost the match by a massive 77-run margin and are now languishing at the seventh position in the points table with only six points to their name.
