After that, the Indian government extended its 21-day lockdown that was scheduled to end on April 14 till May 3 followed by another two-week extension. These all occurring forced BCCI to postpone the tournament for an indefinite period. Surprisingly, the conditions are still the same and the people are dying due to the killer virus.

Mohammed Shami feels there is no time left for IPL 2020

As far as reports are concerned, BCCI has its eyes set on hosting IPL by postponing T20 World Cup and Asia Cup. If one of the two gets postponed then the IPL governing council might get a short window to organize the T20 tournament. However, the decision on the aforementioned tournaments is yet to be taken by the authorities.

During the live session, Mohammed Shami opened up on the commencement of IPL 2020. He feels that there is no time left for the cash-rich league this year with T20 World Cup on the line. According to the 29-year-old pacer, the T20 tournament should be re-scheduled as far as the current conditions are concerned. He also added that chances are quite slim of IPL getting organzied in the ongoing year.

“I don’t think there will be time left to hold the IPL because the (T20) World Cup is also there and everything has stopped. IPL will have to be re-scheduled but looking at the current scenario, I don’t think the IPL will be possible,” Shami told India Today’s Sports Editor Vikrant Gupta.
