Pakistan Cricket Board was brought under the scanner after their team lost the T20I series against Sri Lanka. Before that series, PCB had shown confidence over Sarfaraz Ahmed, but things changed suddenly. Just after playing against islanders they sacked Sarfaraz from captaincy and even dropped him out from the squads for Australia tour.

As soon as Sarfaraz Ahmed was removed from the role of skipper, the decision taken by the board caught several eyebrows. Many former cricketers felt that this decision taken by PCB came under pressure. Now, former Pakistan all-rounder Aaqib Javed has come out with an unlike opinion over it and lashes out at selection panel.

Former cricketer opines over Misbah-ul-Haq future

Former Pakistan player, Aaqib Javed feels that this decision of removing Sarfaraz came under the pressure of media and fans,” I do not understand what they want. Just because they [PCB] were criticised in one series by fans and media, the board decided to change its own decision. First, the board expressed confidence in Sarfaraz Ahmed to lead the team in all three formats of the game, but because of the criticism received for the series, everything was changed,”  Javed, Lahore Qalandars director of cricket operations said as quoted by Geo TV.

He also thinks that Misbah-ul-Haq will also be treated the same way by PCB as Sarfaraz. It is a great responsibility to hold dual roles but needs to prove it soon, “Misbah has been given a great responsibility and when so much responsibility is given to a single person, there is a lot of riding on it and decisions are quickly changed. I expect the same fate to follow Misbah as Sarfaraz,” he added.

In his opinion, the young bowlers should be given preference to first play in domestic conditions, but in Pakistan, it looks like the case is different. Instead of playing against Sri Lanka they have been picked for Australia tour. The green flag nation is scheduled to play T20I and Test series against Australia with quite a few new faces in the team.
