Pakistan were recently up against New Zealand on their soil for a T20I and Test series. After losing the limited-overs series, Pakistan were expected to show up some respectable game against Kiwis in the purest format, but they faced horrific loss. Pakistan lost the second Test game by a huge margin of 176 runs in Christchurch and invited a bag full of criticism for themselves from the cricket fraternity.

In the same light, former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has predicted an ugly future for the Pakistan team. Akhtar stated that the team has got too much criticism for their dismal performance and feared that nations might stop inviting Pakistan for Tests in the future. Akhtar doing all the analysis, he came up with some harsh words while talking on his YouTube channel.

The thing is not that we have lost the Test match; the thing is we have lost very badly. Unfortunately, the Pakistan cricket team played very badly. There is a lot of criticism happening; we have also done it,” said Akhtar.

Akhtar further added that he has few questions, like Test specialist Azhar Ali gets to play only seven Tests while the world is playing 15-20. Domestic cricket doesn’t happen in Pakistan, and there is no such investment in club cricket. Then, how Pakistan cricketers can perform well on foreign soil, and he doesn’t know who to blame for all this.

Unfortunately, Pakistan are in a very dire situation: Akhtar

Akhtar felt that Pakistan doesn’t have a great bowling figure who can stop the run flow from the opposite side. South Africa will be visiting them next, and he fears, how the team will do in front of them. The future looks too bleak for men in green.

“Unfortunately, Pakistan are in a very dire situation and will get exposed whenever they play Test matches. We are going towards a disastrous situation here where we fall down to No.8 in the rankings. I fear the world might stop inviting Pakistan for Test matches. They will say our standards are not good. This is the law of the ICC,” added Akhtar.
