'I laughed, cried and had goosebumps' - Jonty Rhodes after watching Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy
Rhodes, the former South African cricketer, often known for his electric fielding, was one of the few cricketers who made fielding look lovely and enticing.
Cricket and Bollywood are often related in some form or another. But ever since Indian Premier League (IPL) came into the fore, the line between the two disciplines given that cine stars like Shilpa Shetty, Shah Rukh Khan, and Juhi Chawla all became owners of IPL teams as well. This led to many cricketers rubbing shoulders with Bollywood stars and creating strong relationships as well.
One such cricketing star is Jonty Rhodes, the former South African cricketer, often known for his electric fielding and one of the few cricketers who made fielding look lovely and enticing, inspiring a legion of young fans to work on fielding as well, apart from batting and bowling. Rhodes, also has a special relationship with India, as he has lived for an extended period of time in the country due to his IPL commitments and has travelled the whole area on his motorcycle.
Apart from cricket, Rhodes also developed a love for Bollywood movies and he recently shared an update about a special movie he has seen and whose soundtrack has touched his soul as well. The movie is Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy, directed by Zoya Akhtar.
It stars debutant Siddhant Chaturvedi as well. The movie was also India’s official entry into the Academy Awards this year for the Oscar 2020. It was released on February 14, 2019. It grossed an estimated 238 crore rupees globally and was the seventh highest-grossing Bollywood movie of the year 2019.
Jonty Rhodes has been listening to Gully Boy’s soundtrack since last year
Jonty Rhodes met Gully Boy’s Siddhant Chaturvedi at an event in Mumbai recently and listened to the soundtrack as well and has loved it. He shared his experience on Twitter and posted, “Been listening to the #GullyBoy soundtrack ever since meeting @SiddhantChturvD last year at an event, finally got to watch the entire movie on my @emirates to India last night.
