Being played in New Zealand, Australia won the 2010 edition of the ICC U19 World Cup by beating Pakistan in the finals. While Ben Stokes hit the limelight with his 88 ball 100 against the India U19, another Englishman Joe Root, quietly moved up the ranks in his career. With 138 runs in the tournament, Root showed his prowess with the bat against Hong Kong, hitting an unbeaten 70. Root is now the backbone of the English middle order in the Tests. Jason Holder, the current West Indies skipper, made his first impression in this tournament by picking up 12 wickets in 6 matches with a best of 5/19.
