Match Details:

The 7th place playoff of the 2019 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier between Namibia Women and United States of America (USA) Women will be hosted by the Lochlands in Arbroath.

The match starts at 10:00 AM local time (9:00 PM GMT) (2:30 PM IST).

Preview:

Namibia Women and the United States of America (USA) Women will be hoping to avoid finishing last among the eight teams in this qualifying tournament. Both the teams lost all three matches in the group stage and things didn’t change for them in the playoff match either. Both sides will be hoping to put a great effort into this and return home with at least one win in their kitty.

While the bowling has been decent for both the teams, it is their batting that kept letting them down. Namibia nearly took down Thailand Women with their bowling. The Thailand team were reduced to 37/6 before recovering in the 2nd half. They finished with 99/6 and bundled out Namibia to just 61. The USA can take positives from the last match where their opener Nadia Gruny scored an unbeaten fifty.

Weather Condition/Report:

Lochlands is expected to dry on the final day of the tournament as it stood all over this tournament. The weather forecast for the early morning on Saturday is also clear and no delayed start is expected.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The playoff recorded successful chases; both under 100 and that has been a trend in Arbroath. The teams bowling enjoyed help from the pitch with the new ball that helped in restricting the batsmen. Scores around 110 will be challenging for the chasing teams.

Captain Options – Wilka Mwatile, Irene van Zyl, Nadia Gruny

Vice-Captain Options – Lisa Ramjit, Sindhu Sriharsha, Erica Rendler

Nadia Gruny became the first USA Women to score a T20I fifty in the last match. This would surely make her the prime option as captain or vice-captain given the poor performance among the batters.
