The ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 is set to take place in England with the tournament starting on the 24th of June shortly after the close of the Champions Trophy. This also means that there will be a one week window between the ICC Champions Trophy, a tournament that completes on the 18th of June to ensure the smooth running of the Women’s competition.
In recent times, the Women’s Championship has seen its fair share of shake-ups. However, with the qualifiers between the sides ranked fifth all the way down to tenth well in contention for making their trip and case point for boarding the flight to England, the fact is that there is glory to gain in the final. The final will be played on the 23rd of July at Lord’s Cricket Ground, a venue that has seldom hosted the final or perhaps even many One-Dayers in recent times as well.
Steve Elworthy, the director of the tournament also went on to add a few words on the preparations as well.
