ICC World Cup 2019: 5 fielders who saved most number of runs in less matches
Ravindra Jadeja tops the list despite saving 7 runs lesser than Martin Guptill did, as the former achieved the feat in a fewer number of matches comparatively.
3. Glenn Maxwell – 41 runs
Glenn Maxwell is one of Australia’s best fielders currently. The lad is extremely fit and performs like a gun when given the duties to patrol around the field. The situation was quite similar in the Cricket World Cup 2019 as well.
The Oz cricketer played a total of 10 matches saved 41 runs for his side in the tournament. Out of these, 26 runs were saved while fielding outside the 30-yard circle, while 15 runs were saved inside the circle. Maxwell’s ability to save invaluable boundaries at the boundary line helped the Men in Yellow on multiple occasions in the tourney.
One of the best examples of his brilliant piece of fielding was the exceptional run out of the dangerous-looking Andre Russell when the Australian team took on Windies in one of their league games. While playing against Pakistan, he displayed another brilliant piece of fielding as he affected another mind-boggling runout.
