ICC World Cup 2019: Match 33, New Zealand vs Pakistan — Weather forecast | Hourly temperature and chances of rain
Will the clouds open up during the match?
New Zealand will have a chance to become the second team to make it to the semifinal of the ongoing World Cup 2019 when they take on Pakistan at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Australia have already sealed their passage to the top four and New Zealand could join them on Wednesday. The task, however, would not be easy at all as Pakistan will be desperate to win the game to keep their semifinal hopes alive.
A loss for Pakistan will all but dump them out of the competition. On the other hand, the Kiwis can afford to lose the game but they wouldn’t want to put themselves in a spot. They will face England and Australia in their last two games and if Pakistan beat them today, it will become tough for them as well. They could progress ahead even after losing all of their remaining three league games but will have to rely on other results.
Both Pakistan and New Zealand enter the game after winning their last matches. New Zealand overcame a stunning century from Carlos Brathwaite to beat Windies by 5 runs in a thriller in Manchester. New Zealand had reduced Windies to 164 for 7 while defending 291 before Brathwaite took charge.
The allrounder brought down the equation to just 8 from the last two overs. However, his attempt to seal the game with a six on the last delivery of the 49th over saw New Zealand cross the line as Trent Boult took a fine catch near the boundary. Pakistan, on the other hand, beat South Africa to stay alive. After scoring 307, the Proteas could only reach 259/9 which knocked them out of the competition.
How’s the weather expected to be?
Fortunately, for Pakistan and New Zealand, the weather forecast for today is very promising. According to AccuWeather, the chances of rainfall is zero percent throughout the match day. However, the cloud coverage at the start of the game will be around 100 percent which can help the fast bowlers. With the passage of time, the cloud coverage will drop down to around 70 percent. The humidity will be in the early 70s for the most part of the game while the temperature will be hovering around 15-19 Degrees Celsius.
