ICC World Cup 2019: Match 41, England vs New Zealand – Dream11 Fantasy Team based on Stats
Here we bring to you the Dream11 Fantasy team based on the stats of the players.
England and New Zealand will face off in what could be the biggest match of the league phase. The game will decide the fate of both sides heading into the semi-finals. England got an ideal track in Birmingham where they edged past India by 31 runs. They might get another flat deck against the Kiwis where they need a win. If England fails to win this, their hopes will be on Bangladesh’s victory over Pakistan. New Zealand has got the edge in NRR that could take them through to the semis.
Here we bring to you the Dream11 Fantasy team based on the stats of the players:
Wicket-Keepers:
Jonny Bairstow returned to form with a match-winning century and his numbers in the recent games read well. With 273 runs in his previous five outings, the England opener will be the first preferred pick among keepers. Jos Buttler hasn’t got the big runs recently which means taking Tom Latham won’t be risky. The New Zealand keeper hasn’t done anything great with the bat either but claimed 11 catches and costs only 8 credits.
Batsmen:
Kane Williamson’s impressive form makes him the first pick in the batsmen category and also the captain. Williamson is yet to be dismissed under 40 in an ODI since 2013 in England. Jason Roy returned on to the field with a good knock and had runs under his belt before he caught up an injury. The opener has amassed 395 runs in his last five ODI innings which includes two tons and two half-centuries. Joe Root too has been consistent with 297 runs from his previous five innings in this tournament.
All-rounders:
Ben Stokes has been in some form recently as he scored 75+ in each of his previous three innings. He should be vice-captain given his all-round ability considering Jason Roy’s dip in the record against New Zealand. Jimmy Neesham and Colin de Grandhomme have had an interesting tournament so far. However, Neesham gets an edge over Grandhomme due to the eight wickets he picked up in the previous five games.
Bowlers:
The bowling category looks quite tricky for selection but Lockie Ferguson and Trent Boult have to be first preferences. Ferguson claimed a total of 13 wickets in his last five ODIs while Boult has ten. Jofra Archer also has ten wickets to his name but has taken only one wicket in the last two matches and costs nine credits. Mark Wood and Liam Plunkett have nine and eight wickets respectively and moreover, they collectively cost only 16.5 credits.
