ICC World Cup 2019: Match 5, South Africa vs Bangladesh: Captain and vice-captain for Dream11 Fantasy
Here is the guide to select the Captain and vice-captain for Dream11 Fantasy.
South Africa had a rather forgettable start to their World Cup campaign as they lost to hosts England by 104 runs at the Kennington Oval in London. Even as their bowling did a decent job, the batsmen, barring Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen, couldn’t step up and deliver. Faf du Plessis’ men have the chance of making amends against Mashrafe Mortaza’s Bangladesh on Sunday at the same venue.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are scratching their heads over some injury concerns. The captain himself has a hamstring problem, but despite that, he’ll lead the side. The likes of Mustafizur Rahman, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah and Mohammad Saifuddin are also nursing injuries. After their maiden multi-nation tournament victory in Ireland, Bangladesh lost their only warm-up match against India in Cardiff.
Here is the guide to select the Captain and vice-captain for Dream11 Fantasy:
Captain Suggestions:
Quinton de Kock
The left-handed De Kock was a shining light in the Proteas’ dark clouds during the last encounter. He scored 68 off 74 deliveries with six fours and a couple of sixes. He has been in excellent form this year and South Africa would need him to perform if they are to get on the board in the points table. Last time, he got out in the 23rd over after which his team’s inning went downhill.

Aiden Markram
Markram has been in the selector’s radar for quite a while but hasn’t yet cemented his position in the team. Luckily, he made the cut for the World Cup. He flattered to deceive in the warm-ups and then failed against England, having scored only 11. Jofra Archer accounted for his wicket. In the next contest, the right-hander would be desperate to get a substantial score under his belt.

Faf du Plessis
Du Plessis’ role in the Proteas line-up is of prime importance. In a number of instances, he has bailed his team out of precarious positions. But he couldn’t do so against the Three Lions as he got out for five. Du Plessis pulled one short delivery off Archer straight into the hands of Moeen Ali in the deep. The captain will want to lead from the front in order for South Africa to win the encounter.

Vice-captain suggestions:
Soumya Sarkar
The Satkhira-born earlier used to lack consistency. But he has upped his game in the last few months and is an important member of the Bangladesh setup. He was impressive in the tri-nation ODI series after scoring three half-centuries. In April, he also notched a List A double century. There’s absolutely no doubt over his form and he will want to play a knock of substance in the next game.

Mushfiqur Rahim
Rahim scored a 90 against India in the warm-ups and his confidence would be on the higher side. The Bogra-born is one of the Tigers’ stalwart in the batting line-up owing to his stupendous levels of consistency. He is short in stature but has the ability to pack a fair bit of punch. He was amongst the runs in the tri-nation series and must be in a positive frame of mind.

Kagiso Rabada
Over the last few years, the South African bowling has been a dominant force and one of the reasons behind it is Rabada. The speedster picked up only one wicket in the warm-up match versus Sri Lanka. In the first match, he got the crucial wicket of Joe Root in an important phase of the match. He went for as many as 66 in the World Cup opener and will be looking to bowl a bit better next time.
