If India attacks, Pakistan will retaliate: Imran Khan

The attacks in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir has undoubtedly sent shockwaves across the whole of India and people from every nook and corner of the country have condemned the horrendous act, carried out by Pakistan based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad with the help of Adil Ahmad Dar, a suicide-bomber and a school dropout.

An SUV carrying 300 kgs of explosives, rammed into a convoy, carrying Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans. Subsequently, at least 44 soldiers lost their lives and several others were injured. In the meantime, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, also a former cricketer, mentioned that Pakistan will retaliate if India are planning to launch an attack on them.

“If India retaliates, we will not think and retaliate back. If you (Indian govt) think you will attack us and we will not think of retaliating… we will retaliate. It is easy to start a war but difficult to end it. I want to ask India if they want to live in the past. It’s not in our interests that somebody from here goes out to do terrorism, nor that somebody comes here and does terrorism,” Khan said to the media.

The developments

The terrorist attack has made a lot of impact between the two nations, who have been at the loggerheads with each other for quite a while now. India has revoked the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status from Pakistan and has hiked the customs duty on all the goods exported from Pakistan to as much as 200 percent. The Cricket Club of India (CCI) also covered Khan’s pictures in its premises.

The incident has also affected the cricketing relations. The fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is currently underway and DSport, the official tournament broadcaster in India, has withdrawn itself as a mark of protest. Some cricket websites have also stopped covering the T20 tournament.
