Indian skipper Virat Kohli is in the middle of a purple patch, having been able to rack up at an incredible rate. Recently, he became the fastest batsman to score 10,000 ODI runs, surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who took 54 more innings to accomplish the milestone. Moreover, he became the first Indian and also the 10th overall to score three consecutive ODI centuries.

The Delhi-born cricketer is currently taking a break while Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian team in the three-match T20I series against Windies that the home side has already won with a match remaining to be played at M.A Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, November 11. The 30-year-old recently celebrated his birthday and would back during India’s tour of Australia later this month.

More criticisms for Virat

In the meantime, Kohli has got himself tangled into yet another controversial matter. Recently a supporter mentioned that there’s nothing special about Virat and that he prefers watching the Australian and English batsman wield their magic with the willow in hand. The comments didn’t go down well with Virat and he severely lashed out at the fan.

In his reply, the skipper said that the supporter should leave India if he doesn’t like his own cricketers. Thereafter, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) slammed the experienced campaigner for the harsh statement and even went on to remark that he may have violated his central contract. Meanwhile, more criticisms have flooded in surrounding the incident.

Inspector General of police (IGP) traffic Basant is the latest to hurl brickbats at Virat. In the social media platform, he expressed his anger while mentioning that Javed Miandad is his favourite cricketer. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Dear Virat Kohli, I love Javed Miandad. You please keep your cricket patriotism to yourself. And to your advertisement contracts,”
