I'll be living my dream while playing for CSK: Deepak Chahar
He has already played under Dhoni while featuring for RPS.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is one of the most celebrated franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a huge fan following. The favourite son of the country MS Dhoni leads the team and it is no surprise that there is so much buzz around them this year ahead of the tournament. Also, any youngster would love to play for such a team which is always followed and under the leadership of such an icon cricketer. Deepak Chahar is living such a dream of donning the CSK jersey while practising at Chepauk Stadium.
The squad is having fun while getting ready for the T20 extravaganza which is all set to commence on April 7. Chennai Super Kings will face the defending champions Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in the first game. The fans are so much excited about their return that the Stadium was full even on Wednesday to watch their heroes just preparing for the tournament.
I always wanted to play for CSK
Deepak Chahar, the young fast bowler, was thrilled to play under Dhoni in the upcoming season of the IPL and went on say that it was always his dream to play for CSK. “It was an exciting and memorable experience. Practising in front of such large crowds, it felt like a match day literally, like the IPL was already on, such was the passion that we felt… it was exhilarating,” he was quoted as saying by the official website of CSK.
The cricketer from Rajasthan has already played under Dhoni while playing for Rising Pune Supergiant but admitted that the experience of playing for CSK is truly different.
“I’ve always wanted to play for CSK, so it’s a dream come true for me. I will be living my dream and I will be giving my 100 percent. I have already played under Mahi bhai (at RPS) but this is different, you can feel it. This is like his team, you know, he takes care of everything. There, as captain (in 2016) he took care of things on the field, but here he looks into everything… team bonding and if a player has any issues you can speak with him about it,” he added.
The 25-year-old also believed that he will perform much better than earlier this year and was excited to face off his brother Rahul Chahar in the opening game of the tournament. “This time I guess I will further enjoy the experience of playing under Dhoni. Playing alongside him is always a learning experience and I’m sure I will do better than earlier. This is going to feel different. Let’s hope he plays and I play and see what happens,” Chahar concluded with a smile on his face.
