Former Pakistani skipper Imran Khan is unhappy with the PSL finals scheduled in Lahore. The former cricketer has a very valid reason for his reservations against the match being held in the country. International cricket and the players have avoided travelling Pakistan ever since the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus back in 2009. No top team toured the country since then. Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, and Kenya were the only exceptions to have toured the country for limited overs series.
In an attempt to bring back the game to the country, the PCB and the PSL committee were keen on hosting the PSL finals in Lahore this year. Things looked set for Pakistan cricket but the recent string of terrorist attacks in the various parts of the country has raised the concerns all over again. The FICA, players’ association, had also warned the players from participating in the PSL final in Lahore owing to security risks. Among the notable names to oppose the Lahore final is the name of Imran Khan.
He rightly cited that in case there is a blast in the vicinity of the ground during the finals, cricket will surely abandon Pakistan for the coming years. The Tenreeke-e-insaf chief went on to call this move by the Punjab government as total ‘madness’. He added that there is no point in scheduling the match by stopping the daily city life.
“It is not even an international match so what’s the point of holding it in Lahore. It is a terrible idea. We want to hold this match by calling in army and blocking roads and there will be high security. This will not send a good message,” quoted Imran Khan as per the quotes in Pakistan Today.

Former cricketer Javed Miandad also backed Imran and went on to say that he has been repeatedly saying the same things over the last three days. “I have been saying this for the last three days that there is need to hold the final in Lahore owing to security situation,” Miandad said.
