Team India skipper Virat Kohli had an eventful time at the recent team practice session at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The number one ranked Test team is all set to host Sri Lanka for the 3-match Test series. The first Test commences on November 16 and will be played at Kolkata. Ahead of the game, the hosts have had two grilling sessions of practice thus far.

While Virat Kohli faced a lot of throw downs from the support staff during the practice session on Monday, he opted to use some unusual techniques to fine tune his game on Tuesday. Reports suggested that Kohli called a carpenter and had his bat handle chopped off by an inch before heading in to the net sessions. This was done in an attempt to ensure that he gets a good practice of not hitting the ball in the air whilst going for the drives.

Mishap at the nets

Everything seemed to be cruising well for the Indian skipper up until the time when one of the balls ended up hitting a TV crew member at the practice session. The incident perspired when Kohli was facing the bowling of premier Indian pacer Mohammad Shami.

One of the deliveries managed to escape out of the nets and ended up hitting the forehead of the TV crew member. A very worried Virat Kohli was seen leaving his batting midway and rushing towards the injured man. He rushed towards the TV crew member and immediately called for help. Pacer Mohammad Shami also joined in soon to check if there was any serious damage to the injured man.

Both players signaled to call the team physio, who arrived in time to have a proper check of the injury. Before resuming his batting practice at the nets, Kohli ensured that the injured man got the proper treatment from the medical team at the venue.
