Rishabh Pant had a mixed outing in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies. He was surprisingly made to open the innings in the second game where he managed 18 runs off 34 deliveries. However, he made up for it in the third game as he scored an impactful 54-ball 56 and was also involved in a 110-run stand with Shreyas Iyer for the fourth wicket stand when India were reduced to 42/3 in the 10th over. The partnership was crucial in taking the hosts to a match-winning total.
While Pant was one of the standout performers as the Indian team registered a 3-0 whitewash against the Windies, he also turned out to be a prankster and had some fun at his captain Rohit Sharma’s expense moments before the final ODI got underway. It so happened that while Rohit was on serious mode, the wicketkeeper-batter took the onus of putting a smile on the Hitman’s face by doing something silly.
Rishabh Pant plays a prank on Rohit Sharma ahead of the third ODI
It so happened that while Rohit Sharma was focused on his training during a warm-up session ahead of the final ODI, the middle-order batter took him by surprise as he raised his right leg pretending to kick him. It needs to be noted that the 24-year-old was training as well and that is when he decided to have some fun. After that, the duo could be seen having a chat with the youngster trying to be calm and composed while Sharma could be seen giving a serious look.

Coming back to the contest, a vital knock of 80 runs from 111 deliveries from middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer and important contributions from bowling all-rounders Shardul Thakur (38) and Washington Sundar (33) helped India post a challenging total of 265 from their 50 overs.
In reply, the bowlers worked in tandem, and despite lower-order contributions from Odean Smith (36) and Alzarri Joseph (29), the visitors were bundled out for 169 in the 38th over as India registered an emphatic win by 96 runs to win the ODI series 3-0. Rishabh Pant with the help of a solitary half-century finished with 85 runs from three games.
