India forced to cancel their training session due to heavy rain

After registering a convincing win against their arch-rivals, India is due to take on their neighbours Sri Lanka at Kennington Oval, London. But the weather can be a cause for worry for the Indian team, as the last game at this ground between Australia vs Bangladesh was abandoned due to rain.

Weather gods have been the winner of the tournament till now

Rain has affected almost every game in the tournament. India’s first game of the tournament against Pakistan was interrupted as many as four times due to rain. Most of the games have been shortened while two games featuring Australia had to be abandoned due to incessant rains.

Virat Kohli’s men were scheduled to hold a practice session at the London School of Economics yesterday, which was cancelled due to bad weather. After the practice session, some players of the squad were scheduled to conduct a coaching clinic as a part of ICC’s  Cricket for Good programme. Even that was cancelled for the same reason.

Australia had to bear to the frustration of losing vital points when their match against Bangladesh was abandoned when they seemed on their course to win. India can face a similar fate on Thursday when they face Sri Lanka at the same venue and that can be a reason to worry for the team management.

MET Department has forecast rain on Thursday

The forecast for Thursday isn’t very encouraging either, MET department has predicted a lot of rain on the match day, claiming that it can be the wettest day of the week, with chances of rain as high as 60% in the afternoon.

This news wouldn’t be a music to the ears of Indian team who would have liked to continue their momentum they had built after the win against Pakistan. But there’s isn’t much anyone can do about weather
