India has got the best bowling attack in the world: Ramiz Raja
He also praised Mohammed Shami for his exceptional bowling on dead Indian pitches.
India’s pace bowling resources is the main reason for them to do well consistently in the Tests. The team was short of a brilliant pacer everytime. And they always needed an extra batsman to make-up for bowling weaknesses. But this has changed a lot in the last 3-4 years with Indian bowlers becoming more potent than ever.
Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, and Ishant Sharma are some of the best ranked fast bowlers in the world and this has helped India do very well in South Africa, England and even win the maiden Test series in Australia. They have recently won their 11th consecutive series at home defeating the Proteas in the second Test at Pune.
Add Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in the mix and Kuldeep Yadav waiting in the wings, India’s bowling attack has become one of the most talked-about in the world of cricket. This has led to the former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja singing praises for the Virat Kohli-led side.
South Africa should learn from Shami how to bowl in India
Ramiz Raja has come out with a statement terming the Indian bowling attack the best in the world. India defeated South Africa in their home in the first two Tests of the 3-match series. The team is also no.1 in the ICC Test Championship points table with 200 points from four wins. Umesh Yadav starred with 6 wickets in the match in Pune, while the others assisted him well.
“I believe that one only wins in Test cricket if they are capable of taking 20 wickets and India got the best bowling attack in the world. Because they have covered all bases in spin, pace, behind the wicket, exceptional fielding and solid captaincy,” said the cricketer-turned-commentator on his Youtube channel.
India had won the first Test in Vizag by 203 runs while pocketed the Pune Test easily. Virat Kohli slammed his highest Test score of 254*, while Mayank Agarwal hit his second straight century in two matches. Raja was especially praised Mohammed Shami for his lionhearted bowling effort on dead Indian pitches.
“Credit should be given to Mohammed Shami who took wickets on a dead wicket, and South Africa should learn from him the line and length that works in Asian conditions,” he further added.
