India might get bullet trains before CSK’s MS Dhoni bats at no.4: Virender Sehwag
Dhoni has been criticised for demoting himself down the order.
Virender Sehwag, the former Indian cricketer, has taken a sly dig at Chennai Super Kings’ MS Dhoni for demoting himself down the order. In the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the CSK captain batted at number seven in the first two games. Though the Yellow Army beat the Mumbai Indians (MI), they couldn’t evade a 16-run defeat at the hands of Rajasthan Royals (RR).
In the match against Delhi Capitals (DC), the Jharkhand-born legend batted at six, but couldn’t save his team from a 44-run defeat. A number of experts reckon that the now 39-year-old should bat higher up the order, especially when CSK are facing troubles due to Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu’s absence, the latter being injured.
And now, poking fun, Sehwag said that the India might introduce bullet trains before Dhoni promotes himself up the batting order. “Even then MS Dhoni did not come in to bat. Now, it seems India might get bullet trains before MS Dhoni makes up his mind to bat at No. 4,” Sehwag was quoted as saying on a Facebook video.
MS Dhoni and Co played a Test match against Capitals, feels Sehwag
In the match against the Capitals at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, CSK could never inject momentum during their run-chase. Chasing 176 in 20 overs, the required-rated kept mounting. Barring Avesh Khan, who gave away 42 runs without any wicket, the Super Kings’ batsmen failed to get hold of any of DC’s bowlers.
Sehwag didn’t mince any words in saying that CSK played against DC similar to a Test match on a green top in Perth. He said that rather watching them bat, he would have watched Sooraj Barjatiya’s movie.
“There’s no comparison between a metro and a rail but like Delhi Capitals, Metro is young. Delhi blew the whistles out of Chennai’s dad army. In a T20 situation, on a green wicket like Perth, if you play a Test match, then I would rather watch Sooraj Barjatya movie. Chennai’s batting was quite like that,” he added.
CSK are currently languishing sixth in the points table with one win from their last three games. Their next match is against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday, October 2 in Dubai.
