The Supreme Court’s order that has seen the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) cut down on their spending by massive amounts, something that has seen the cricketers suffer as a result of the same. The freezing of the accounts of the BCCI by the Lodha Panel, while putting a close on their free-spending has also gone on to witness some of the cricketers not being paid as well.

More recently, the India U19 squad has been in somewhat of a bother. This bother has seemingly transcended into worry when their allowances have not been cleared by the board. While the daily allowance of these young players is certainly somewhere in and around Rs. 6,800 the fact  of the matter is that this money has not reached the players contracted by the Board for a month and a half now. Even Rahul Dravid, the coach of the Indian colts went ahead and confirmed the same.

At the moment, the Indian youth side is locking horns in the field of play with England in Mumbai. While the hotel they are staying at offers them complimentary breakfast, the lunch is something that is currently being reimbursed by the regional state cricket board. Finally, the fact is that they don’t have enough money to pay for dinner.

For this, mot of the lads have had to rely on their parents for funding. Reports also suggest that the boys go out for dinner usually given the fact that the food in the ‘posh’ hotel they are staying at is quite expensive wherein even a simple sandwich can cost upwards of Rs. 1500. According to a report in the Indian Express, U-19 coach Rahul Dravid, the players, and support staff have not been paid for a fortnight now.
