India v Australia 4th ODI 2017: DLS par score
Rain stopped play when the Indian team was 251/4 in 41.1 overs.
The India vs Australia ODI series has been played amidst rain scare, though the rain gods haven’t caused a lot of disruption in the series except the one at Kolkata the teams have had their eyes on the Duckworth-Lewis and Stern score sheets. Ahead of the 4th ODI at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, the Meteorological Department had once again predicted thundershowers. But as the game got underway it looked all good as sun was shining in the first half of the day and for 90 percent of the Indian innings.
But come the 42nd over and the clouds hovering over the stadium started to leak. Though it was not a really heavy shower the umpires decided to take the players off the field as a precautionary move and wait for the shower to pass rather than letting it cause damage.
The Indian team had scored 251/4 in 41.1 by then with Kedar Jadhav and Manish Pandey in the middle. Though the hosts look pretty set to make it 4-0, they were just short on the DLS par score. After 41.1 overs Team India needs 253 runs as per the charts and if there is no further play, they will lose the game by 2 runs.

The Indian batsmen were reluctant to leave the field as it was hardly drizzling, it was a strange decision made by the umpires as play isn’t stopped till the pour down is heavy enough for it to be impossible to play. It was termed a pre-emptive move by the officials and Australian captain Steve Smith was pretty happy to leave the field as his team was leading the game on the DLS charts.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli appeared out of the dressing room with the head coach Ravi Shastri and by the look of it appeared like he was wondering if it was raining at all. But as the umpires decided, the groundsmen brought the covers on and the players went off the field.
