India v Australia ODI series, 2017 – Approaching milestones

The exciting 5-match ODI series between India and Australia is set to begin on Sunday in Chennai and we will witness a series full of cricketing action, and it will be a lot more than just cricket that will determine the outcome. All this while, the individuals will also have an opportunity to break some records and a few players across both the teams will be eyeing some milestones in their career.

Here we look at the approaching milestones for the players ahead of the India-Australia ODI series.

41 – Number of wickets Jasprit Bumrah has to his name in ODIs so far. He needs to take nine more wickets in next two ODIs to be the joint 2nd fastest to reach 50 ODI wickets. If he takes four ODIs to get those nine wickets, he will be fifth on the list. Bumrah needs seven more wickets to complete 100 wickets in List A cricket.

91 – Mohammed Shami has taken 91 wickets in his ODI career so far. If he picks nine more wickets in his next three ODIs, he will become the quickest to 100 ODI wickets.

96 – Number of ODI matches David Warner has appeared in so far. Warner needs to feature in another four ODIs to complete 100 ODI appearances.

98 – Number of wickets Umesh Yadav has taken in ODIs so far. He needs two more wickets for completing 100 ODI wickets. He has 94 wickets in Tests and a wicket in T20Is.

98 – Number of ODIs Steven Smith has played in his career so far. He needs to feature in two more ODIs to complete 100 ODI appearances.

988 – James Faulkner has scored 988 runs in ODIs so far. He needs 12 more runs to complete 1000 ODI runs. Faulkner is five wickets away from completing 100 wickets. If Faulkner scores 12 runs and takes five wickets, he will be only the 7th Australian with the ODI double of 1000 runs and 100 wickets.

1977 – Glenn Maxwell has scored 1977 runs in his ODI career so far. He needs 23 more runs to complete 2000 ODI runs. Maxwell needs five more wickets for completing 50 ODI wickets.

4982 – Runs Steven Smith has scored in his List A career. He needs 18 more runs to complete 5000 List A runs. Only two Australians have scored 5000 List A runs at a better average than Smith (47.44).

7929 – Rohit Sharma has scored 7929 runs in his List A career so far. He needs 71 more runs to complete 8000 List A runs.
