India is now only four wickets away from clinching the historic Pink-ball Test match as they reduced the Bangladesh team to 152/6 by end of the 2nd day. Virat Kohli became India’s first centurion in a D/N Test match before declaring their first innings on 347/9. Bangladesh got off to a poor start in the 2nd innings as they lost first four wickets scoring only 13 runs. Mushfiqur Rahim’s unbeaten 70-ball 59 helped Bangladesh to recover and get past 150-run mark with two 50+ stands.

13 – As many as 13 different players batted for Bangladesh in this match thus far; the most for any team in an International match (Men/Women). Mehidy Hasan, the concussion sub No.1, batted in the first innings while the 2nd substitute Taijul Islam batted for the first time in the 2nd essay. This was also the first time in International cricket that 24 different players batted in the same match.

Kohli’s record hundred:

10 – Virat Kohli now has scored 10 centuries as captain in India; the most by any Indian captain at home.

20 – Kohli’s 20 Test hundreds as captain are the 2nd most by any player in this format as captain.

41 – Number of International tons as a skipper for Virat; the joint-most International hundreds for a captain.

A tough game for Bangladesh skipper:

2 – Mominul Haque became only the 2nd Bangladesh captain to bag a pair in Test cricket. Habibul Bashar in the 2004 Harare Test against Zimbabwe was the first skipper of Bangladesh to be dismissed for duck in both innings of a Test.

1 – Mominul Haque is also the first player to bag a pair in Test cricket while leading the team against India.

A World record in declarations:

7 – India now has declared each of their last seven innings in Test cricket; the longest such streak for any team in this format. The previous longest was six by England on their tour of West Indies in 2009.

Umesh’s streak at home:

10 – Umesh Yadav now has taken more than one wicket in each of the last ten Test innings at home. He is only the 2nd pacer to take multiple wickets in ten or more consecutive innings in India. Courtney Walsh has taken two or more wickets 12 successive innings on Indian soil.

30 – Number of times Umesh has picked up more than one wicket in a Test innings on Indian soil; the 2nd most number of innings for any fast bowler. Kapil Dev took more than one wicket in an innings at home on 56 occasions.

Kohli-Rahane set Indian record:

2767 – Runs as a pair between Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane in Test cricket for the 4th wicket; the most by any Indian pair. They surpassed Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly’s tally of 2695 runs with help of the 99-run stand in the first innings.
