India vs England 2018: ECB announces Specsavers as the Official Test Partner for the series
The sponsors will stay with ECB for the Ashes next year as well.
Team India will fly to England where they play 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 5 Test matches in July and the long tour ends only in September. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is already preparing for the series since a lot is at stake. ECB recently announced their association with popular British optical retail chain brand, Specsavers as the Official Test Partner for the five-match series against India.
The ECB has cracked a deal with Specsavers till the end of the 2019 season, which also includes the sponsorship deal for the Ashes series in England next year. Specsavers is currently the title partner of the Specsavers County Championship and also, Partner of the ECB Association of Cricket Officials (ACO), as the British brand signed the two partnerships in 2016 and 2014 respectively.
We want to cement our position as a partner in red-ball cricket
The Specsavers Director of Marketing, Chris Carter also announced the new sponsorship deal signed with ECB as the Official Test Partner for the India series and noted that it is a very proud moment. He talked about the brand’s long-term plans to cement their place as the partners to support Test cricket.
Carter also cited that in the upcoming series first against India and then next year against Australia, it will certainly be a pretty exciting and thrilling contest to be played in England which will prove to be a tremendous sporting spectacle.
“We are proud to become the Official Test Partner of the ECB from this summer’s series with India through to the end of 2019, cementing our position as the partner for the red-ball game. The India series alongside next year’s Specsavers Ashes Series will see the visit of two of the top three Test teams battling it out with England in what promises to be a tremendous sporting spectacle,” said Carter.
