India vs England: 5 Indian players who may not get a chance in the ODI series
These five players might be benched during the ODI series vs England.
4. Mohammed Siraj
India’s right-arm medium-fast seamer Mohammed Siraj is living a fairytale life as he had a blockbuster debut in the longest format of the game. Injuries to the main seamers paved way for Siraj in the Test Playing XI in the second Test of the four-match series against Australia. Since then there has been looking back as the 27-year-old ended as India’s highest wicket-taker in the Australia Test series with 13 wickets from just 3 games.
He also performed decently in the Test series against England. However, his inclusion in the ODI squad came as a surprise for many as Siraj hasn’t featured in a List A game since January 2020. His lone ODI appearance for India came during 2019 where he went wicketless along with leaking runs at an economy rate of 7.60.
In addition, India has their pace-attack sorted as Bhuneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan, who had an exemplary debut in Australia, will be the first-choice pace duo while Shardul Thakur can be the third pacer if the all-rounder Hardik Pandya decides against bowling all his 10 overs in the upcoming three One Day Internationals.
