The 2nd ODI between India and England saw some class hitting by visiting batsmen, which ultimately handed them a victory by six wickets. After India placed a fine target of 337 runs in front of England, Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes decided to devastate the bowling set up of hosts and made the 300 plus target look too ordinary. When Jason Roy left the field after his half-century, Stokes and Bairstow began with fiery hitting all across the ground.
While Bairstow hit a terrific century (124 of 112), Ben Stokes (99 of 52) missed his well-deserved ton by just a run. When the Southpaw walked back to the pavilion, he didn’t forget to remember his late father again. Ben’s father, Ged Stokes, passed away last year while battling brain cancer, and it’s a known fact that he was too attached to his father.
The English player has been seen giving tribute to his late father various times on the field, and during the 2nd ODI, he was seen apologizing to his father for missing a ton. While Stokes walked back, he was seen saying sorry to his father while looking up, and the video of the same started floating on social media in no time.
