And KL Rahul scores a duck again. The man has been going through a lean patch in his career as he has failed to score runs and justify his position in the Playing XI in the ongoing five-match T20I series against England at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Since the commencement of the T20I series, KL Rahul has struggled to get going and contribute positively to the scoreboard. The first T20 International saw him opening with Shikhar Dhawan but departed back to the pavilion after facing just 4 balls and scoring one run. This was followed by the right-hander scoring a six-ball duck in the second match while opening with Ishan Kishan.
The ongoing third T20 International was no different for the 28-year-old. His opening partner again changed owing to the inclusion of veteran Rohit Sharma in the squad, but Rahul’s performance remained the same. Facing only his fourth ball of the day, Rahul lost his wicket while looking forward to opening his account.
The third ball of the third over saw right-arm quick Mark Wood bowling a back-of-length delivery that jagged sharply back in with some serious pace. KL Rahul failed to read the ball properly as he was late and the ball successfully breached the gaping hole between his bat and pad to uproot the stumps.
This resulted in the batsman walking back to the pavilion after scoring a four-ball duck and India receiving their first hiccup quite early in the game.

Another disastrous start for India
The third T20 International commenced with visiting skipper Eoin Morgan winning the toss and inviting the hosts to bat first. Put to bat first, India experienced a torrid run as the new opening partnership of KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma couldn’t survive on the pitch for long with the former departing off Mark Wood while Rohit also lost his wicket to Wood in the fifth over.
The hero of the last game, Ishan Kishan also couldn’t do much as flattened on the pitch and went back to the pavilion in the sixth over after scoring 4 runs off 9 deliveries and getting dismissed by Chris Jordan.
